Ancient Thira Tours Santorini Bus Tour to Ancient Thera - NST Travel Santorini Greece

We will take off from Kamari and it takes about 10 minutes by bus and then a 10-20minute walk to reach the actual site on foot. Ancient Thira is situated in a unique location on the top of Messa Vouno mountain at a height of 356 m.

This strategic point was chosen by the Dorian settlers to build their capital town in 8 th century BC. Excavations have revealed the ruins of ancient buildings, sanctuaries and temples, inscriptions and carved stones of the archaic period, as well as an ancient theatre situated in an excellent location with panoramic views to Aegean Sea. After the tour we will return to Kamari by bus.
