After the devastating volcanic explosion, circa 1.650 BC, the island was covered with volcanic ash, lava and pumice stone. This catastrophe created the foundation for perfect soil conditions which now help the very distinctive wines of Santorini.
There are a lot of types of wines, like: Assyrtiko (dry white wine), Nykteri (dry white wine), Visanto (white wine naturally sweet), Visanto (Vin de Liquer), Mezzo, Athiri (white wine), Aidani (white wine), Mandilaria (red wine), and Mavrotragano (red wine).


We will pick you up from your hotel or your cruise ship and will start from

Santo Wines in Pyrgos.
Operates since 1992, is sited on the edge of Caldera, in the middle of Santorini vineyard. It is of 5.000 tons capacity. Santo wine has built in 5 different levels, so that the building is in harmony with the surrounding environment and the vineyards that are spreading out in different ground levels.

Second stop in Koutsogiannopoulos winery in Vothona.
The unique of all the Greece underground wine museum, is located 8 meters under the ground and 300 meters long in shape of labyrinth,
presenting the history of the wine and the life of the Santorinian wine producer since 1660 until 1970. With representation of mobile
and stable models, electronic audio guide in 18 different languages with similar sounds and lighting.

Third and last stop in Sigalas winery in Oia.
The scenic location of the winery and the positioning of the wine tasting room to the west, affords the opportunity to all guests to enjoy
the colors of the setting sun as it descends on the vineyard. You can also have a tour of the winery where they will inform you about all the
stages necessary to produce the wines and of course are offered the opportunity to sample the wines of the estate.
